NFC and Shopify POS

Tap an NFC tag to open a certificate's verification page, and certify in-store sales made through Shopify POS.

Two ways to connect certificates to in-person selling: an NFC tag on the item, and sales made through Shopify POS.

  • Write to NFC tag: on the certificate detail page, write the verification URL directly to an NFC tag (Web NFC on Android Chrome), or copy the link as a fallback on other devices.
  • Shopify POS: in-person sales through POS are Shopify orders, so they auto-certify like any other order. To look a certificate up at the counter, search by serial number under Certificates in the Authentica admin. A lookup inside the POS app itself is not available yet.

Where to find it

Open a certificate in Apps → Authentica → Certificates and use Write to NFC tag.

How to set it up

  1. Open the certificate on an Android phone

Use Chrome on Android, where Web NFC is supported.
  2. Write to NFC tag

Tap Write to NFC tag and hold a blank tag against the phone. Tapping the tag now opens the certificate's verification page.
  3. On other devices

The certificate URL is copied instead, so you can write it with any NFC-writer app.
