Not every printed card carries a QR code. Some merchants print the edition name and piece number, such as Deep Claret 042/150, or just the serial. Authentica gives your store two public lookup pages, so anyone holding the card can still reach the right certificate.
The two lookup pages
| Page | Address on your store | What the visitor enters |
|---|---|---|
| Look up by edition and piece number | /apps/authentica/lookup | Picks the edition from a list, then types the piece number, for example 042. |
| Look up by serial | /apps/authentica/find | Types the certificate serial. Useful at the counter, and linked to the edition lookup. |
How the edition lookup works
- The list shows each limited edition by product name and edition size only. It never lists individual pieces, owners or private links.
- The piece number opens that piece's current certificate. If the certificate was replaced, the visitor lands on the newest one, and the earlier record stays reachable from there.
- Both pages are limited to 20 lookups a minute per visitor, so nobody can walk through your numbers.
- If you have your own verification domain, the lookup pages work there too.
How to set it up
Number your editions
In Settings → Serial numbering, turn on Number limited editions and set a size. See Numbered editions and serials.Print the number
Print the edition name and piece number on the card or tag. To print it where a certificate number would be, choose Edition number instead of the certificate number in Settings → Public certificate page.Point people to the page
Print or link toyourstore.com/apps/authentica/lookup, for example from a page called Verify your piece.
