Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions merchants ask most often about fees, migration, card data and AI assistants.

What are the transaction fees?

None, on any plan. Miko never takes a percentage of your subscription revenue. You pay a flat monthly app price and keep 100% of what your subscribers pay.

How do shoppers subscribe?

Create a subscribe and save offer, then add the Subscribe & Save block to your product template in the theme editor. The widget shows your one-time and subscription prices side by side, the shopper picks a frequency and checks out, and the subscription appears in your Subscribers list.

Can I move my existing subscriptions over?

Yes. On install, and on every dashboard load, the app reads the subscription contracts that already exist on your store, so you open a populated dashboard rather than an empty one.

Will this slow my storefront down?

The widget is a small theme block that renders with your product page. The customer portal and the AI assistant endpoint run on our servers, not in your theme, so neither blocks your storefront from rendering.

Do you charge me when an AI feature cannot produce something?

Never. Every AI feature falls back to a plain deterministic result when the model is unavailable, the fallback is labeled as a suggestion rather than an AI action, and it is not billed. Nothing is written to a live subscription without your approval.

Can an AI assistant cancel a subscription on its own?

Not by default. A cancel request returns a single-use confirmation link that the buyer has to open, valid for 30 minutes. Auto-apply can be switched on from the Growth plan if you want agent changes to go through without it, and the Agentic page always states which mode you are in.

Does the app store card details?

No. Payment data stays with Shopify and its payment providers. When a subscriber needs to update a failing card, the app asks Shopify to email them Shopify's own secure update link.

What happens to existing subscriptions if I remove an offer?

Nothing. Removing an offer stops new shoppers subscribing to it. Subscribers already on it keep their contract, their price and their schedule.

Do I need Shopify Plus?

No. Miko Subscribe & Save works on any Shopify plan that supports subscriptions.
