Setting up volume discounts
Reward larger orders with quantity price breaks, scoped per product, per collection, or per group.
Available on Growth and Pro plans.
Volume discounts reward buyers for ordering more. You define quantity tiers, and Miko applies the correct tier automatically once the cart qualifies. This runs on top of, or instead of, the group pricing above depending on which produces the better price for the buyer.
Setting up a tier ladder
- Open Customer Groups and choose the group you want to price.
- Click Volume Discounts.
- Add a tier: enter the minimum quantity and the discount.
- Repeat for each break point, then save.
Example: a four-tier ladder on a $4.50 item
1 to 11 units pay $4.50. 12 to 47 units pay $4.05 (10% off). 48 to 119 units pay $3.60 (20% off). 120 or more pay $3.15 (30% off). A buyer ordering 150 units pays $472.50 instead of $675.00.
Three scopes
- Per product. The tier counts the quantity of that single product. Best for case-pack items.
- Per collection. The tier counts the combined quantity across everything in a collection. Good for "buy any 48 units of our candles".
- Whole order. The tier counts every eligible line in the cart. Good for rewarding total order size.
Three discount types
- Percentage off, for example 15% off once 24 units are reached.
- Amount off, a fixed dollar reduction per unit.
- Fixed price, an exact per-unit price at that tier.
How it interacts with group pricing
If a customer qualifies for both a group discount and a volume tier, Miko uses your priority setting to decide which applies. Set this under Settings, Pricing Rules, choosing whether the lowest price or the highest discount wins. The buyer is never charged more than your regular retail price under any combination.
