Testing with a real customer, the price sync, discount codes, and missed discount alerts.

Smaller things that make wholesale run more smoothly once the basics are set up.

Test with your own customer account before going live

Create a customer in Shopify with your own email, add one of your wholesale tags to it, and log into your storefront as that customer. You will see exactly what a buyer sees. Add something to the cart and go all the way to the checkout page: the discount is applied by a Shopify Function at checkout, so the checkout screen is the only place that proves it end to end.

Understanding the price sync

When you set or import custom prices, Miko writes them to your product variants in the background so the storefront can show wholesale prices instantly without waiting on a network call. The dashboard shows sync progress. A large catalogue takes a few minutes; you do not need to keep the page open, and pricing at checkout is correct throughout regardless of sync state.

Combining wholesale pricing with Shopify discount codes

Wholesale pricing and Shopify discount codes are separate systems. Whether a buyer can use both at once is controlled by the Combines with settings on the Shopify discount itself, not by Miko. If you do not want wholesale buyers stacking a public promo code on top of trade pricing, set that discount to not combine with product discounts, and test it with a tagged customer before you publish the code.

Missed discount alerts

If a tagged wholesale customer is ever charged retail, Miko records it and shows an alert on your dashboard with the order number, the group, and the tag it matched. This is worth checking after your first week live, because a silent retail charge is otherwise invisible on the order itself. No alerts means nothing has slipped through.

Analytics

The Analytics page shows revenue and order volume by customer group, your recent wholesale orders, and price sync status across the catalogue, so you can see which accounts are growing and which have gone quiet.
