Scheduling a discount campaign
Run a dated sale for Black Friday or any promotion that turns itself on and off without editing product prices.
A campaign is a discount with a start date and an end date. You set it up once and it switches itself on when the window opens and off when it closes. Your product prices are never edited, so there is nothing to put back afterwards and no sale price that survives past the weekend by accident.
Creating a campaign
- Open Event Campaigns in the Miko admin and click New campaign.
- Name it, for example
Black Friday 2026, and set the start and end date and time. - Choose the audience: everyone who visits the store, only shoppers who open your share link, or only selected customer groups.
- Add one or more discount rules.
- Save. The campaign goes live on its own at the start time.
Three audiences
- Everyone who visits the store, a normal storefront-wide sale. Retail shoppers included, no customer tag or account required.
- Only shoppers who open the share link, the campaign stays invisible until someone opens your link. Useful for early access, an email list, or an influencer drop.
- Only selected customer groups, a trade-only event for the wholesale groups you pick.
The share link discounts logged-out shoppers
When someone opens your campaign link, the campaign is recorded on their cart, not on a customer account. A first-time visitor with no account, who never logs in, still gets the campaign price all the way through native Shopify checkout. There is no discount code to type. Because it lives on the cart, it survives page reloads and follows the shopper from product page to checkout; opening a different campaign link later replaces it.
What you can discount
- Everything, one rule across the whole catalog.
- A specific product, for doorbusters or clearing a single line.
- A collection, with membership checked live at checkout, so adding a product to that collection mid-sale immediately includes it.
Each rule can be a percentage off, a fixed amount off, or a flat per-unit price, and can require a minimum quantity.
How campaigns meet your wholesale pricing
Every campaign has a stackable setting.
- Not stackable (default), the campaign price and the wholesale price are both measured against retail and the buyer gets whichever is cheaper. A wholesale customer already on 20% off is never pushed to a worse price by a 10% campaign.
- Stackable, the campaign comes off on top of the wholesale price. Use it deliberately: a 20% group discount plus a stackable 20% campaign is a 36% total reduction, not 40%, because the second percentage applies to the already-reduced price.
If two campaigns are live at once, the non-stackable ones compete on best price first, then any stackable ones apply on top in turn.
Timing
Start and end times are entered in your own browser's time zone, and that zone is stored with the campaign, so a sale set to end at midnight ends at midnight where you are. The app re-checks every minute, so a campaign starts and stops within about a minute of the time you set. You can safely build campaigns weeks ahead; one whose window has not opened has no effect on any shopper.
