The checkout extension adds a native loyalty panel directly inside the Shopify checkout. Customers can see their points balance and redeem rewards without leaving the checkout flow.
Where to find it
The panel is added in Shopify’s checkout editor: Settings → Checkout → Customize, or Open Checkout Editor from the Miko app’s dashboard. It appears as Miko Loyalty: Checkout, above the payment methods.
How to set it up
Enabling the checkout extension
Check your plans
Ensure you’re on the Pro plan and have Shopify Plus
Open the checkout editor
Go to Settings → Checkout → Customize in Shopify admin, or choose Open Checkout Editor in the Miko app
Add the app block
Add Miko Loyalty: Checkout from the app blocks and click Save
Check your checkout
The extension appears in your checkout above the payment methods, no theme code changes needed

Why this matters
Most loyalty apps show redemption only in a widget before checkout, which means customers forget to use their points by the time they’re paying. The checkout extension puts the redemption option exactly where the buying decision happens.
What customers see at checkout
- Their current points balance displayed natively in the checkout
- A choice of the rewards they can afford and a Redeem button
- Their discount code, generated on the spot, to enter in the discount field on the same page
- How many more points they need for the next reward they cannot afford yet
