The app writes its results back onto the Shopify customer record as miko- tags, and builds the Miko AI: customer segments in Shopify on those tags. A customer analyzed inside the app but showing nothing in Shopify has not had that write-back run, or has not had it run since their score last changed. Re-run the sync and re-check the customer in Shopify rather than in the app, since the app can be correct while the write-back is stale.
Check these in order
Give the write-back a few minutes
Tags are written in the background after the sync shows as complete, a batch of customers at a time, so a large store can take a few minutes longer than the sync itself.
Check the customer qualifies for a tag
Scores such as churn risk, VIP probability and the RFM segment stay inside the app. Only the rule-based tags are written to Shopify:
miko-vip,miko-high-value,miko-at-risk,miko-lapsed,miko-first-time-buyer,miko-one-time-buyerandmiko-bulk-buyer. A customer who meets none of the rules gets no tag.Check the customer was analyzed
Customers beyond your plan’s allowance are not analyzed and get no tags until they place a new paid order.
Check the segment exists in Shopify
In your Shopify admin, open Customers → Segments and search for Miko AI.
Check for an old tag
Miko only ever adds tags, it never removes them, so a customer can carry an old tag such as
miko-at-riskafter they have ordered again. The in-app segment shows the current list.
How to fix it
In the app, go to Settings and click Sync all customers now, wait a few minutes after it completes, then check the customer in Shopify. If a Miko AI: segment is missing, click Rebuild Shopify segments in Settings. See Shopify tag sync for the rule behind each tag.
If it still is not working
Contact support with your store domain and the email of a customer who should have a tag.
