Shopify tag sync

Write segments back to Shopify as customer tags so every other tool can use them.

Miko AI writes intelligence directly to Shopify customer profiles as miko- prefixed tags. Every email tool, automation platform, or Shopify Flow can pick these up automatically. It also creates native Shopify customer segments built on those tags, such as Miko AI: At risk.

Where to find it

In the app, go to Settings → Customer sync. The tags themselves appear on each customer in your Shopify admin under Customers, and the segments under Customers → Segments.

How to set it up

  1. Run a sync

    Click Sync all customers now.

  2. Let the write-back finish

When Settings shows Last synced, Miko writes the tags to Shopify in the background, a batch of customers at a time. On a large store this takes a few minutes after the sync completes.

  3. Check a customer in Shopify

In Customers, filter by a tag such as miko-vip, or open a customer and look at their tags.

  4. Rebuild the segments if needed

If a Miko AI: segment is missing in Shopify, go to Settings → Shopify customer segments and click Rebuild Shopify segments.

When tags update

Tags are written in real time when a customer’s order is paid (via webhook) and for all analyzed customers during a manual sync. Go to Miko App → Settings and click Sync all customers now to update all tags now.

Example

A customer with 7 orders, $620 lifetime spend and a last order 100 days ago gets miko-vip and miko-at-risk. A campaign to the Miko AI: At risk segment in Shopify Messaging reaches them.
