This is a deliberate flag, not an error: it appears when your current stock covers more than roughly six months of sales at the present rate. It is there to surface cash tied up in slow inventory. On a genuinely seasonal product it is expected ahead of the season and is safe to ignore.

Overstocked means more than 180 days of cover, counting on-hand and incoming stock.Incoming stock
A large delivery on the way counts towards cover, so it can tip a product into overstocked before it arrives.A slowing sales rate
The rate uses the last 90 days, so a product that has cooled off shows more cover than it used to.
How to fix it
Nothing needs fixing if the stock is seasonal. Otherwise, stop reordering it and check the Dead Money Finder for the cash it is holding.
