The Dead Money Finder shows the cash tied up in stock that is not selling, so you can discount, bundle, or stop reordering it before it drains more of your budget.
Where to find it
Open Dead Money from the app menu. It fills in once the app has read your catalog and a year of sales history.
Options
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Dead | Products with stock on hand and no sale in the last year. |
| Slow | Products with stock on hand and no sale in the last 90 days. |
Each product shows the frozen value, units on hand multiplied by unit cost, and the report is sorted so the biggest offenders are at the top. Every row links straight to the product in your Shopify admin. A product with no unit cost recorded cannot be valued, so it is left off the report.
Example
40 units on hand at a unit cost of $12.50 is $500 of frozen cash. If the last sale was eight months ago, the product shows as Slow; after a full year without a sale it moves to Dead.
