Dates show as unavailable when the item is sitting on the shelf

Pending bookings from abandoned checkouts still hold units, and a store-wide blocked date blocks the whole catalog.

Availability counts units held by bookings in four states: pending, confirmed, active, and needs review. The one that catches everyone is pending.

  1. An abandoned checkout is still holding the units. A booking is created when the customer starts checking out, not when they pay. If they never complete payment, that pending booking keeps holding the dates until you cancel it. If a date looks wrongly blocked, look for pending bookings on it first.
  2. A blocked date is blocking every product. A blocked date can be scoped to one product or left store-wide. A store-wide block makes the date unavailable for your whole catalog, which reads as "the app is broken" rather than "one date is blocked". Check for store-wide blocks before per-product ones.
  3. One day inside the range is full. Availability is judged by the busiest single day in the requested range, not the average across it. A ten-day hire where only day four is fully booked is correctly unavailable for the whole ten days.
  4. The variant is switched off. An inactive variant reports no availability at all, on every date, regardless of how many units it has.
