Does the date picker work on all Shopify themes?
The Miko Product Rentals date picker uses Shopify's Theme App Extension system, which is supported by all Online Store 2.0 themes (released 2021 and later). If you are on an older theme, contact us at hello@tripsterdevelopers.com and we can assist with integration.
What happens if a customer cancels a rental?
Cancel the order in Shopify as you normally would. Miko cancels the linked booking automatically, which restores availability for those dates so other customers can book them. You can also open the booking in Miko Product Rentals and click Cancel booking. Cancelling a booking does not refund the customer, so handle any refund through Shopify's standard order refund process.
Can I have different pricing for weekdays and weekends?
Not currently. Pricing is set as a daily, weekly, or monthly rate that applies uniformly across all days. Contact us if weekday and weekend pricing is important for your business.
Can I limit the minimum or maximum rental duration?
Yes. From the product rental settings, under Inventory and duration, you can set a Minimum rental days (for example, minimum 2 days) and a Maximum rental days (0 means no maximum). If a customer tries to select a date range outside those bounds, the date picker will display an error and prevent them from adding the rental to cart.
Does Miko Product Rentals work with Shopify POS?
Not currently. Rental bookings are online-only at this stage: customers book through your online store. Contact us if POS bookings are important for your business.
Can I rent out products that are also available for outright purchase?
We recommend creating a separate Shopify product for rental vs. outright purchase. This keeps the product page experience clean and avoids confusion between a one-off purchase price and a rental rate. You can duplicate an existing product in Shopify, then add the duplicate as a rental product in Miko and activate it.
Where do I find the booking dashboard?
From your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Miko Product Rentals and choose Bookings. You can filter by booking status (Confirmed, Active, Overdue or Needs review) and by product, and search by customer name, email or order number.
