Any existing Shopify product can be turned into a rentable item in a few steps. You do not need to create a separate product: you enable rental on an existing one, and its Shopify listing stays unchanged.
Where to find it
In your Shopify admin, open Apps → Miko Product Rentals and choose Rental Products.
How to set it up
Open Rental Products
In the Miko Product Rentals dashboard, go to Rental Products.Pick the product
Click Add rental product, then Browse products and choose the product you want to make rentable. Click Add this product. It is added switched off, so nothing changes on your store yet.Set the rental pricing
Under Rental pricing, set the Price per day, and optionally a price per week and per month (see Rental Pricing for details on daily, weekly, and monthly rates).Set the unit count
Under Inventory and duration, set Units available: how many physical units of this item you own and can rent out simultaneously.Optionally set a deposit
Under Security deposit, set a Deposit amount (a flat amount collected at checkout alongside the rental fee). Leave it at 0 for no deposit.Save
Click Save settings.Activate the product
Click Activate. The product needs a daily price, or a deposit for free rentals, before it can be activated.
Once activated, the product is rental-enabled. Customers will not see the date picker until you also add the Theme App Extension block to your product page template, see The date picker block.
Options

| Price per week, Price per month | Optional. Leave at 0 to skip the rate. Used for hires of 7 days or more, and 30 days or more. |
| Units available | How many can be out at the same time. |
| Minimum rental days | The shortest booking allowed. |
| Maximum rental days | The longest booking allowed. 0 means no maximum. |
| Deposit amount | A flat refundable deposit per unit rented. 0 means no deposit. |
| Allow rental even when Shopify shows product as sold out | On by default and recommended. Miko's own calendar decides availability, so a rental can be added to cart even when Shopify stock is zero. |
| Rental notes | Customer-facing notes shown on the product page, for example the pickup location or what is included. |
| Sync variants | For products with variants in Shopify. Pulls the variants in so you can price each one and set its units. |
