Will Miko overwrite my existing content?
Only when content is written back, and every write can be undone. Single-product generation writes back automatically by default; switch off “Write generated content back to Shopify automatically” to see a before-and-after and apply it yourself. Bulk jobs always write straight to your products. Every change has a one-click revert, and a whole bulk job can be undone in one click.
What data does the app access?
Only your products. Miko requests read_products and write_products and nothing else, so it never touches customer data, orders, or discounts.
Does the Listen button cost extra to run?
No. It uses the shopper’s browser text-to-speech, so there is no per-play cost regardless of traffic.
Does Miko work in languages other than English?
Not yet for the content itself. Miko generates descriptions, titles, meta descriptions, alt text, tags and spoken summaries in English, and there is no language setting. The storefront Listen button picks a browser voice for your storefront’s language when the shopper’s browser has one.
Will a price ever get baked into my description?
No. Miko never writes a specific price or currency into your copy, so it stays correct across multiple currencies and when you change prices. Shopify shows the live price separately.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
All content Miko generated for your store is permanently deleted within 48 hours of uninstalling, per Shopify’s data protection requirements. Content already written to your products stays on your products, since that’s your Shopify data.
