At Miko Apps and Tripster Developers, we believe in radical transparency. This policy details our rigorous standards for data protection and privacy across our global software ecosystem, ensuring your brand and customer data remain secure at all times.
1. Ecosystem Identity
Miko Apps is the official software engineering department of Tripster Developers, a certified Shopify Plus Expert agency. We provide bespoke engineering services and proprietary software solutions to merchants worldwide. This unified policy applies to all Miko software products (including Miko Loyalty, Live Odoo Connector, and B2B Wholesale Hub) and our digital service hub.
2. Strategic Data Collection
We process data exclusively to execute high-performance logic for your Shopify store. Our collection is strictly limited to the technical requirements of the specific Apps you have installed.
- Infrastructure Metadata: When an App is installed, we receive store-level details such as domain name, email address, plan tier, and primary administrative contact to provision your dedicated infrastructure.
- Transaction & Engagement Intelligence: For Miko Loyalty, we process purchase history and customer interaction events to calculate point balances and VIP tier progression. For the Live Odoo Connector, we process real-time order and inventory states to ensure bi-directional synchronisation.
- B2B Operational Data: For the B2B Wholesale Hub, we process customer segment tags and price list metadata to apply custom wholesale pricing natively within the Shopify storefront.
- Miko AI Customer Intelligence Data: For Miko AI, we process Shopify customer purchase history, order frequency, monetary values, and timestamps to compute RFM scores, churn risk probability (0-100%), VIP probability, and lifecycle stage classifications. This scoring data is stored in our secure database and written back to Shopify customer profiles as
miko-prefixed tags. We use the Anthropic Claude API to generate plain-English segment explanations and personalised email copy. Only anonymised segment context is sent to Anthropic -- no personally identifiable customer information (names, emails, addresses) is ever transmitted to Anthropic. We use Resend to deliver weekly report emails and CSV exports to the merchant's configured email address. Resend does not receive raw customer data. All Miko AI data is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app or trigger a data clear from the app Settings page.
3. Data Security & Encryption Standards
Security is a foundational pillar of the Tripster Developers engineering standard. We implement enterprise-grade measures to safeguard all merchant and customer information:
- Encryption: All data is encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 protocols and in transit via TLS 1.3 or higher.
- Isolation: Each implementation of our high-volume connectors (like Odoo) operates on isolated worker threads to prevent data cross-contamination.
- Access Control: Only senior DevOps engineers with multi-factor authentication (MFA) have access to production server environments for technical maintenance.
4. Information Sharing & Third-Party Ethics
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your customers' data to third parties. Information is only shared with platform providers (like Shopify) or verified infrastructure partners (like AWS or Odoo) that are strictly necessary to perform the requested service.
As a global entity, we adhere to the strict requirements of GDPR, CCPA, and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
5. Retention and Right to Deletion
In compliance with Shopify's platform requirements, we automatically purge all store-specific data within 48 hours of an app uninstallation. You retain the right to request a full data audit, a copy of the information we hold, or immediate permanent deletion at any time by contacting our privacy officer.
